My Map

So, I have a map of Namibia on my wall, and I've decided to mark off where I've been on it, so from time to time, I will post pictures of it here so you can see where I've been. I'll even include names of the places (though only the ones that actually appear on the map, so there are a bunch of small villages in my area that won't make it)

Ok, so, where have I been so far? Well, let's start with the star. That's Khorixas, where I live. The two asterisks (*) are Okahandja (where my training was) and Otjiwarrongo (my "shopping town", to use the Peace Corps lingo). Other places (the "X"s) include Windhoek, the capital, Terrace Bay (where I went fishing with my boss) and Torra Bay, on the coast, Outjo (the next town over) and Kamanjab (about an hour north), where the closest PCVs to me are, Omaruru (south of me), where I had a training, the Grootberg Conservancy (there's a blog post about my work there), and Fransfontein, a village not far from me.

So, I just got back from a trip. That little X on it's own it Keetmanshoop, where I went during my holiday. Then, there are a cluster of 4 Xs on the southwest area. The most northern one is Solitaire, a small town on route to Sossesvlei and the Namib-Naukluft National Park, where I just got back from. The other Xs are (from north-south) Sesriem, the Sesriem Canyon, and Sossusvlei. That's it for new places on the map, for now.

Okay, here it is. The map below is likely to be the final version:
